Today I decided to rise to the challenge and sign up for the AVON 39 - The Walk to End Breast Cancer. A 39-mile walk to raise money for breast cancer patients and research. I am starting my training and fundraising for this great cause. I look forward to the two-day event this September. For more information, visit Avon39.org.
The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) Summer Conference was held in Los Angeles this August. The conference was an atmosphere of inspiration, creativity, and good humor, centered around the shared interest of providing quality books to young people. I look forward to attending again next year and recommend that anyone who is passionate about writing or illustrating for children and young adults become an SCBWI member.
